I'm trying to set js2-include-node-externs as a directory variable. My.dir-locals.el looks like this: ((js2-mode. 2) (js2-include-node-externs. T)))) Emacs asked whether the variable is safe, so I added it to the list of safe variables. (put 'js2-include-node-externs 'safe-local-variable 'booleanp) Now when I do describe-variable js2-include-node-externs it says its value is t instead of its original value nil but the node externs are still marked as unknown.

The strange thing is, when I use js2-mode-customize and click 'toggle' for js2-include-node-externs (which is 'off') it works. More strange is describe-variable js2-include-node-externs still says its value is t. I'm confused.

Unfortunately I didn't take the time to fix them like you did. Per Wiklander commented on 2010-12-10: According to: 'This is part of Emacs since version 23.2 under the name js-mode (with an alias javascript-mode)' commented on 2011-06-13: You can actually use js2 mode for highlighting and espresso for indenting; look at the post. This was written before espresso was added to Emacs as js-mode, so in the code snippets you need to replace espresso with js.
