Click to expand. Thanks for that great tip on the travel kit. It went onto my Christmas Wish List @ Amazon. I, too, have the latest Apple BT KB; use it on one of my mini's. Neither my wife nor I really like it all that much. Both of use like the feel of the older KBs since we grew up learning typing on manual typewriters.
BTW, for a long time, I used my old Apple Extended KB that came with the 7600/8600/9600 Macs. Then, I bought a Griffin Technology iMate (in-line ADB to USB converter) for one of the Extended KBs to use on my first USB Mac desktop - love the feel of that Cherry (KB mfg) KBs!
However, 2003, I bought the Logitech Duo so I could hook my work PC laptop up to my monitor at home. Then, I added a KVM to share the KB/mouse/monitor. The Duo's default keyboard configuration is a Windows compatible layout. Logitech has a Mac System Preference Pane that automatically configures most of the standard keys to match an Apple Keyboard. Now that I'm retired, I don't have the Win PC laptop, but I have the dual boot Hackintosh, and I want to maintain that seamless KB capability. So, for now, I'll keep an old PS/2 KB that I got from the trash can at work a decade ago (works fine) for when I want to boot into the BIOS.
I'll also have to look into a more modern KVM switch. OR.get rid of, which makes more sense.
