I just picked up ipad pro (10.5) to do my photography editing and I'm currently using Adobe Lightroom to edit all my photos. I'm new to using the iPad/mobile app but I find it works really well for editing photos. I believe I tried it a few years ago and it felt like a light version of the desktop app with minimal features.but now it seems like you can do real work/editing on it. I like that you are now able to import and edit Raw files.

Per info, I use the apple sd card dongle to import my files. I also like that you can sync your edits with lightroom on your desktop app (i believe this was always there). One thing to note.while the lightroom mobile app is free, it requires a Adobe Cloud subscription to use some features such as the Adjustment Brush tool which i find critical for editing your photos. Edit: FYI, I bought the cellular iPad and like being able to connect to the web or upload photos to social media or my website on the go. Thanks for the response! I've been using VSCO on my iPhone to edit for a couple years and I love it, but my main reason for switching to an iPad is because of overheating issues I have while editing on my phone. Plus, the screen is bigger and brighter on the iPad, which is always welcome.

Not to mention, I don't really like using my phone as a dedicated editing tool. It's not incredibly professional-looking, plus I don't like having thousands of photos of someone else's wedding on my phone. Yea when i first tried out Adobe Lightroom a few years ago it was on my mobile. I wanted to see if it had the features or same capabilities as my desktop version and at that time it didn't. Also while the app on the iPhone and iPad are the same, the experience is totally different.

The screen size (obviously) makes a huge difference as it is much more easier/enjoyable to use.I couldn't see myself using Lightroom on my phone to edit photos (even when i first tried it). Also the Pencil is quite useful and prefer it over my finger.I'd suggest picking it up. Not sure if you shoot in raw format or if VSCO can edit raw format but using a software/hardware that can utilize raw format is huge as the options/features between jpeg and raw are huge. I used the 12.9 pro with Lightroom mobile during a press trip to South Africa. To be honest, it kinda worked but was far from perfect. I have a couple of images with developing presets applied.

Those images are always in sync so I can use their settings as a starting point for further edits on the iPad (via copy/paste settings). This is ok for me until Adobe does something. The bigger problem is speed, and also the fact that exporting images back to the camera roll is limited to batches of 15 photos. Again, limitations on Adobe's side.

My typical workflow was: Shoot RAW import to Photos import to LR mobile delete those imported to LR from Photos edit in LR export back to Photos with edits baked in. So I have a workflow on the go, but still prefer editing larger sets of photos on a laptop or desktop.

Posted in, Tagged with ON1 Layers will no longer be a separate module. Instead, the power of layers will be accessible within the non-destructive workflow inside of Develop and Effects. This will allow for creating or editing multi-layered files, including raw files, and keep the non-destructive settings for each photo layer. Customers will also be able to move, size, and mask each layer. More importantly, and a new concept, each layer has its non-destructive settings, all the way back to the original file. What’s most exciting is if you are working with raw files, powerful adjustments like exposure, highlights, shadows, and camera profiles can now be processed using the raw data in a layered photo workflow. All without having to change modules or applications.
