TK5473, Probably your best option for DIY home design I was a previous chief architect home designer user before purchasing Live Home 3D. Overall it is much more pleasent to use and the 3D mode works better.

Pros - Fast - Easy to build/modify walls - Intiuative interface - Auto roof works very well - Ability to easily create 3D movies - Works with my older 2011 MBP where the newest chief architect does not - Materials and very easy to add and edit - Excellent import/export support Cons - Lacks support for slopped lots, exposed basements. Cathedral ceilings, split levels - Doors, windows, stairs, and cabinets are just 3d objects and thus are not very well integrated like they are with chief architect - Very limited selection of doors and cabinets (although you can find more in the Trimble 3D warehouse) - Edit in sketchup is a nice feature but doesn’t really work because it destroys your object/component grouping - No siding or concrete materials really???

I had to put asphalt in my basement:/ - Limited trim/moulding support (can’t edit elevation for raise rooms, can’t specify casing for doors/windows, missing base trim for wall ends and wall openings) - No support for half walls - Sunken rooms like a step down to a garage are very challenging to make work - Needs more video tutorials Many of the cons can be overcome with the block tool in combination with ceiling opening and 3d shapes. I think with a bit more time to mature it will be truly fantastic. This app will absolutely pay for itself during my basement remodel project. Tomb123, deleting walls unnecessarily difficult shouldn't be difficult but it is.

Select a wall and more than the wall you've selected is deleted. Please fix this. Developer Response, Thank you for the feedback! If you have a complete room, the first click on its wall selects the whole room (it is especially convenient if you want to move the room and its content to another place). The second click selects the wall itself. This is when you can delete it.

To learn more abut floorpan creation, please, watch the video “Creating a floorpan” in our video Tutorials: https://www.livehome3d.com/mac/live-home-3d#tutorials. Pepper, Disappeared files This program is amazing and has the tools to build nice houses. However, out of no where, all of my project files disappeared. The program asked me if I wanted to load an auto-saved project and I said no.

Then everything was gone. I don’t know if this was a bug before the update, but my masterpiece colonial house is gone forever. I spent three weeks straight designing it.

I wish I could show a picture! I used this program to its maximum! But because of this bug, I had to take off three stars. If someone can give me an answer, it’s be very appreciated! Developer Response, Good day, The file with the project did not disappear. We will help you to find a path to it. Please, run the program and open any document or template, then make some changes in it (it is important step).

Click on the document name in the upper center part of the program toolbar. In the menu that appears you will see a folder name where to all the documents are saved by default. Most probably it is iCloud Drive (either in Live Home 3D folder or right on the drive). If you set other location for saved files, the dialog will show you the path to it. Feel free to contact us at support@belightsoft.com in case you will have any questions.
